The Final Asembley

Hello bloggers, Yesterday was the official YMS final assembly. Does anyone know what that mean... nearly the end of school for the year. Today is A fun day were we get to do fun stuff. Back to the real topic. It was really annoying because halfway through one of the profmaces my back started to hurt and it was really killing me. It was like that until it was our turn for the performance then my back was all good. Have you had your last assembly or something like that? If you have what did you think of it.

Career week

Hello,blogger s This week when the year 7 and 8s are at Wellington we get to investigate careers. For the past three day I was a Army soldier , air force pilot and today a police officer. Our task is to write in a KWL chart.  Then we do research question which is basically just answering questions about the job.  I find it fun because you can look at the jobs in the world. my favorite one so far is police. I think I like it because I am learning a lot more than  I knew.

Kapa haka festaval

Hello,bloggers last night something happened to the schools in the Ura Manuka cluster. It was the kapa haka festival. Well the night was watching kapa haka performances and you could get a hungi. If you don't know what a hungi is it is just cooking food underground and it tastes so good.  I was super  nevos going there it when you go up on the stage it looks like there is more people. But luckily I still did it because I couldn't wait. It was so scary when we had to do our first song because I was at the front. When I went to the back I was not as scared. My maths DLO

A flash of white and brown

Hello bloggers, our school has neighbors. and one of them had puppies and the puppies come  through the gate. But one of them, Daisy came over when we were having lunch and was bombarded with hands well only four. I was one of the four. The other people were Kade,Maddie and Shay, Shay was the one that Daisy was at the most. Other people were slowly crawling for a pat. Then after lunch we went in for silent reading and then Daisy had came back over and into the class.  Then Mrs Spragg had to carry her all the way to the gate and return her safely. I think I was the one to eat my lunch then pat Daisy. Do you ever get to have a surprise guest that isn't a person at your school.  Daisy was a surprise guest because nobody knew she was coming.

Banksy who?

Hello bloggers, I have a really serious question (inhales) it isn't but it is very related to the post . Do you think that street art is good or bad. Ok let's get serious, we were doing street art. I didn't get it finished but I will show you what I did do. It was fun because I thought that there was only one type not as much as there is. I learnt about Banksy. My novel study work

Speed dating...but with a twist

It might sound strange but it was for novel study.  I ended up with The imposable boy.  The books about this boy called vince and he's invisible and this boy called benjamin and only he can see him and then, oh wait spoilers just stopped before they got out. News report

Hello,bloggers do you guys like the news, well I don't.But I like making my own which I did today and I loved it. I used a slide to make it and it is serious, ok that was a lie but it is mostly serious. So this guys reading the news. It has an ad it is one slide long. Finding frations

Hello,bloggers we just finished our math work Finding fractions. I found it fun becouse we had to do a difrent method. So the method was to draw a rectangle . Then you draw squres of the denomonator. Then divided the main number with the denomonator and thats your anser. It was cool becouse the second  to last slide was a maze and I enjoyed it. Then we had to make a DLO about what we learnt. Book report

Hello,bloggers For the home leaning blog I chose to make a book report. I did it on Captain underpants, warning it may get gross so if your barf easily get a bucket, and the big,bad battle of the bionic booger boy part 2 the revenge of the nasty nostril nuggets. I used google doc book report template. It also came with tips and I used every tip on it. Holes

Hello,bloggers I made a holes book promotion. I made it on imovie and we talked about holes. Me and rhys made it and it was fun. My free verse

Hello,bloggers today we had to write a free verse😱. That was my reaction when Miss Taylor said " today you are going to write your own poem." But when I thought of an idea I was on to it. It was fun because we didn't have to write rhyming and things like that. Oh I forgot to tell you free verse is like a normal poem but without rhyming and rhythm and no format that you have to put it in. Back to my poem. My topic is why I hate writing poems (thanks Mika for the idea) and I think it's cheesy because we had to record yourself saying it. The thing is that when you record it it sounds so cheesy. But after I was done, I felt pretty good 😃. Until I came in and said " Miss Taylor i'm done."

A picure paints a thousand words

Hello bloggers, Today I decided to do a picture paints a thousand words. The task was to use a picture to inspire our blogs. My topic for it is the state of the world now. One side of the picture has beautiful green colors and the other is dark and all polluted and garbage. Like the world now. I'm not saying I hate the world, I mean like that the world isn't as bright and colorful as it used to be like. Just to clarify to task isn't write a thousand words it is use this image to inspire your blog. Just to let you know this isn't going to make my blog all about the world and how we can repair it. But just keep in mind what your doing to the world.

This image perfectly represents our world. In the past beautiful and the present polluted. Who caused this. Not the dinosaurs and cavemen. It might be a shock but we did yes us. Not just that guy over there or that group of people. You also had a part in the state of the world and we can fix it and people are trying to fix it by using more eco-friendly things and less plastic and using more reusable bags.

The dark side to a nice tale

Hello bloggers today we had to unravel something dark about the Three Billy Goats Gruff. Why the goats are the bad guys. Ok let me explain. We had to choose a thing that was good about the troll and write why the goats are bad. My reason was, What if he was in a competition for the longest grass in a field,  the goats giving away there brothers for food for there gain and a different way that they chould tackle the situation. If you had to do this task what would you make up. Yes we had to make it up. Here is my report.

In the traditional version of the Three Billy  Goats Gruff the troll is pursued the bad guy but for a fact the goats are the bad ones. The troll has been the victim of the worst crime ever.

First the troll entered a competition for the most grass in a field. He might have been growing the grass for five years and the goats came and trown that out the window. Before attacking the trolls filed the goats ate all of the grass on their filed and than went to the troll. The troll only wanted to protect the grass so he has a chance of winning but now he doesn't. What will happen after the goats eat all of that grass? Will they do anther murder and eat all that grass? It could never stop until we put them in the slammer. But until then you could be the next vitom.

The other bad thing the goats did was rather have there brothers eaten so the could eat. That's just crull. Why did the goats want to kill the troll they could have been like “ can we come over for an snack” than the troll could have said “ sure” or “ no “ but the goats just told him about their brothers and than ramed him off his bridge. It was private property but the goats didn't care because it was their gain and they wanted it so they took it. 

The other bad thing the goats did was commit murder to the troll. The troll could have not have had the chance to swim and was wanting to win the competition to pay for swimming lessons but he got murdered and thrown in a lake. What happens if he washes up on shore and they tracked it to the goats? The goats are the bad ones in this tale. You may have thought that they were good but the truth can affect your thoughts. The last thing is if the goats didn't attack the troll he might have been also wanting to help them but now he can't because he is in a lake presumed dead but he could be alive but you never know.

A author came to school

Hello bloggers like five minutes a author came. Can you guess who it is. Its not j.k rowling or jrr tolkien it was a new zealand author. her name is Karyn Wilson She made two books about new zealand one is kerurus bbq and  peka and koro. We were lucky because peka and koro is coming out next week so we got to see it early. It was cool because Karyn brought her drafts and early stages of the book and told us about the writing process. I thought it was just make a book printit and give it to a shop.  She also said that writing/english was her least favorite subject in school. Here are pictures of the books. median,mode and what

Hello,bloggers do you know what the median,mode and range is well if not i'm going to tell you. Well the median is the middle number in a number order. The mode is what appeared the most. The range is the difference between numbers eg 12,14,28,35 range = 23. My maths group had to do a slide on this stuff I enjoyed it because it stared hard but it got easier because I had more experience with it. Have you ever needed to use median,mode and range before? I found the median the hardest because Some of the numbers just made it harder to work out. I found the range the easiest because you just had to add numbers to find the highest number.This is the slide we had to work on.

You can make a bridge out of popsicle sticks?

Hello,Bloggers today I finished my bridge,but it was made out of popsicle sticks. It was maths week and we had to choose a topic and build/ make something about it. I chose bridge because it sounded fun to make. I ended up making some changes because it was made out of popsicle sticks. I started with a bridge with triangle legs then stiat legs then no legs at all and that was what I stayed with. So we had some weights for strength tests. I got to take some photos of my bridge with the weights on it. It e super nerve racking feeling the bridge slide a little but not fall or snap. The worst part was slowly putting the weights on and waiting to see what happened.

Making a bridge

Tech is good? Tech is bad? The one question that  has been around since the start of technology and
nobody can agree on but today i'm going to give you the answer for the question. My name is Toby
and today i'm going to tell you why tech is bad.

The first thing i'm going to tell you why we need it . Well the first reason is it makes learning fun
instead of having to sit there and look at things and remember things but with tech you can go back
and remind yourself. The second reason is if you need to check something you can search it up.
Some people think it's cheating but if you sit there and use it like a calculator it is cheating but if you
just pop on to check info or easier ways to do hard things it's more like it's helping you than cheating.

Tech is important because if we didn't have it when we are driving some wear we are unfamiliar with we
would be lost. We would be just as lost if you have a map but you don't know how to use it.The other
thing that would happen is we shouldn't talk to people from far away I know we should use mail but that
would take forever and who would want to give a message to someone that you don't know because the
person came back before the mail got to them.

People could also put money into
mobile games like Angry Birds and get more lives that would be gone in the same amount of time it took
you to get them. Or in rpg ( role playing game) game for gear or a better version or even to remove ads with I don't see the
point because you could just put your phone down and get something to eat whale the ads going or
even just watch the ad because it's only like thirty seconds.

The other thing is texting while driving this shouldn't be new to everybody while it has been talked about
a lot on the news and how devastating it can be but there are simple ways you could avoid it the first
thing to do is wait till you reach your destination and then look or if you have passengers just let them
do it. The other thing is bullying it's been around pretty much the start of time but it just gets worse and
worse because of cyber bullying heroes and little way it should work the bully teroris is the victim and
the victim gets home than boom gets bullied at home on the computer on a game that you can play with
friends or chatting website like facebook. There is away you can avoid this is by ignoring it or if it gets
bad tell someone about it who care if they call you a baby. The last reason is neck pain from looking
down  at a screen for a long time but the way you should avoid these is finding an angle that your not
looking down for a long time.

Surely now you understand tech isn't good or bad it's in the middle of it. Now you must understand why it
can be bad not just horrible or amazing just good. Give me a show of hands if you agree with me.

Presenting my masterpiece!!!!!!

Hello,bloggers last week I did my shark tank presentation. I was the first in the term to do it because I felt super confident about it. I used canva to make it ( because I was familiar with it ). The first thing we had to do was write the report ( we did that in term 2 ) and then publish it. We had to share it even if it was the report. The topic for the report was pet habitat that we made. I found it fun to draw because it could be anything. I decided to make a ipad rodent cage. Here is my report.

This brand new product is an extraordinary rodent cage Created by Toby Dixon in christchurch,new zealand. This scientific cage is what pet owners need made for taking  pets on the go wherever pet owners want to go. So all pet owners thinking about where they can go and not go but  pet owners  can go anywhere they want with it but most other cages can't so that's a point that this is the best but we only just started.

                                                                                             The style 
All pet owners are most likely thinking well what does this thing look like and feel like so here it is. Pet owners can choose out of the colors are lava red,sea blue and sunset orange. But for an extra price pet owners can get neon colors of the main colors. And the outside of the cage is made of sturdy rubber so if pet owners drop it it won't hurt the animal inside. The glass protecting the inside is thin but stronger than it looks.
